Bio

After achieving certification as an Industrial Administrator/ Manager in the pharmaceutical industry, Sigrid continued her education and studied Biology, earning a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from the Ruprecht-Karls-University, Heidelberg, on research into therapeutics against HIV1. Since then, she has accrued more than twelve years experience in biomedical research, obtained in the pharmaceutical industry (Hoechst/Bayer), academia (University of Pennsylvania) and at the Research Institute of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

With an innate aptitude for writing, Sigrid has demonstrated her talent in her extensive bibliography, including high-impact journal publications, review articles, book chapters, poster publications and grant proposals. Three of her co-authored NIH grant proposals received funding at first submission. With her expertise in a broad range of biomedical research topics, Sigrid has the capacity to communicate a diverse spectrum of medical and scientific topics knowledgeably and effectively.
